Collection — 01
Acquired at a flea market in Munich, presumably from an estate: four boxes of around 600 unsorted medium-format glass slides. The unique photographs, mostly of hikes, landscapes, mountains, villages and Munich, suggest that the photographer was from the area. Dating from between 1950 and 1960.
Collection — 02
Acquired at the Marché aux puces Porte de Vanves flea market in Paris: small series of medium-format negatives, wrapped in cryptic, hard-to-read glassine sleeves. The photographs show mysterious nuns (Basilique Sainte Anne, Bonlieu-sur-Roubion), a private shoot and various snapshots from the years 1954 to 1971.
Collection — 03
This collection comes from an auction in the USA and contains the travel memories of an American family on slides. Included are impressions of a trip to Asia (Japan/Singapore) in 1985 and pictures from the 18th Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico in 1989.
Collection — 04
A travel documentary on 35mm slides shows what was then Yugoslavia (possibly Croatia) in 1962. The young men who documented their activities in detail were obviously not completely averse to the local cuisine.
Collection — 05
A plain wooden box, labeled “Sweden, Stockholm, Lapland, 1960”. The contents of this inconspicuous box document a journey from Sassnitz to Abisko, beyond the Arctic Circle. The framed medium-format slides cover the stages from Sassnitz to Trelleborg, via Stockholm, Gävle, Luleå, Jukkasjärvi, Kiruna and Abisko.

From the repertoire of a travel-loving family from Dresden: snapshots from Mongolia, Vietnam, the former Yugoslavia, Italy, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and records of various camping and kayaking vacations. The date of the photos (35mm slides) is probably between 1960 and 1980.

This collection depicts a documentary road trip from Calgary to Vancouver, including the impressive landscapes of various national parks (Banff, Jasper). The footage was taken during the 1988 Winter Olympics and conveys in every respect the impressive beauty of nature that can be experienced in Canada.

The photographic collection of R.T. Simpson from Lancaster provides a fascinating flashback to the year 1903. His impressive black and white photographs show early Britain, from Jersey to Gloucester and the Isle of Wight. Unfortunately, the photographer himself remains a mystery, as no further information about him is available.

This collection of dry plates from 1929 documents a trip to Italy with photographs of Rome, Naples, Palermo and Florence as well as impressive images of the majestic Dolomites. The photographs offer a fascinating insight into the landscapes and cities of Italy in the late 1920s.

Flea market find: A plain cardboard box with the inscription “Magnificent alpine world”. The contents include five rolls of negatives (35mm, b/w) together with an explanatory booklet. The five series bear the following titles: “Summer days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen”, “With the cog railroad to the Zugspitze”, “The Kaiser Mountains in Tyrol”, “Wonderful world of the Alps” and “The three faces of the Alps”. In terms of time, we are in the year 1952.
